Cartagena, Spain

Cartagena is a beautiful city on the southeast coast of Spain. The city’s history goes back to the Bronze Age, 3000 BC. Occupied by Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Vandals, Visigoths and the Moors for much of the time. The city reflects some of each occupants culture. In fact today we saw parts of a ceremony or festival that celebrates the past.
The buildings are colorful, the streets look like marble, it’s a very clean city…the people are friendly but don’t speak much English.
We lunched on some of the most common cuisine of the area smoked fish, pork stew and French fries. One thing on the menu that didn’t sound good was golden fried anchovies.
The history of the submarine is, it was the 1st submarine that could fire a torpedo. It was invented in the late 1800’s.
Sorry no dog pictures but we did find a great head stone. (get it? Head stone)
