Split, Croatia

Split Croatia is on the Dalmation Coast in the Adriatic. It is across the Adriatic from Italy. One of the most traveled tourist destinations in Europe. They say the real estate is some of the most expensive in all of Europe. Historically it was settled by the Greeks in the 3rd century. In 295 AD Roman emperor Diocletian built a retirement home in Split. A palace actually. And it still stands today. The country was part of Yugoslavia from 1918 until 1944 and people’s government of Croatia was formed.
Pictures show the city from the ship and the ancient buildings from Diocletian’s palace and the ancient city surrounding it.  In the center of the city we listened to the most amazing men singing.  It echoed through the entire city.  We of course found doggies.  The currency is Kuna so we couldn't buy anything, all we have are euro and dollars.
Also a picture of us with our Head Waiter, Sudhir from India, Waiter, Harun from Turkey and Assistant waiter Tony also from India.
Tomorrow we get to Venice and will be staying there for 2 nights. I’m sure we’ll have more to post from Venice.
