Zeebrugge/Brugge, Belgium
Zeebrugge is a beautiful little village. This is one we really liked. People were very friendly and most people could speak English so it was easy to communicate.
The local cuisine was of course chocolate. It was so delicious, nothing like we’d get the USA. The waffles were great…Belgium waffles, we couldn’t go wrong.
From Zeebrugge we took a train to Brugge…it was even more beautiful. Cobble stone streets and quaint houses. The pictures run together but you can get an idea of how the area looks.
In Belgium as well as Denmark and Holland you had to pay 40 to 50 euro cents to use a public restroom. Crazy, huh? But, when you gotta go you gotta go. The toilet Nazi was about 4 feet tall but if you didn’t have the right amount of change she wouldn’t let you in.
La Havre, France
We were in France today. Unfortunately this wasn’t what we expected. This is a small town about 3 ½ hours from Paris. To take a bus to Paris could take up to 4 hours each way. We decided not to be that adventurous. But getting back to La Havre, it was a city with newer buildings….of course this is mostly what we saw of the area. There must be an area that’s more attractive. People in France speak very little English but we were able to get along just fine. We had a wonderful lunch, delicious cheeses and bread and grilled shrimp
There really wasn‘t anything interesting enough to take pictures. .
We’ll be at sea for the next two days so won’t have much to report. Will start up again when we get to Spain.
The weather hasn’t been very good, it’s been chilly, raining and lots of wind. We’re hoping things get better soon.
Hope everyone is okay.
